thx ribose <3
Yess I love this so much! Very much appreciate the option to a) have wacom tablet and b) no pants to truly and accurately represent my computer use at home.!
I like the big option variety of the environment objects.
so gooood !! super cute i loved it
REALLY BASED. when i saw computer-user maker i was already so excited. i love dollmakers that have to do with furniture and rooms. i wasn't sure we'd get any in this style for the jam BUT WE DID AND IT HAS MY FAVORITE THING (beautiful CRT monitor). i like the option of the windows too.. the drawing tablet addition is so very good as well.
doing this with plain HTML/CSS is insane to me. PRAVO. the use of selecting colors for changing things in the dollmaker is very cool and the styling of the summary tool! i'm very fascinated by this and how you went about it exactly and difficulties you might've had.... I'M ALSO HAPPY TO SEE CROSSOVER WITH WEIRD WEB OCTOBER.. have yet to do any sort of code jam, but would like to myself eventually.. tying it to game jam is so huge brained.
thank you so much for joining!! if you want, consider joining the weblisting if you'd like!!!!!!!!!

i'm so happy you like it; thank you so much! my partner deserves all the credit for what things were included. the CRT monitor is one of my favorites too :-)
javascript definitely would have been more efficient, but i stubbornly enjoy using CSS for elaborate schemes (i owe so much to the :has pseudo-class)... i really admire all the templates and tutorials you've been making for people, so i did think about how i might turn this into a template too, but the code is just SO repetitive. one toggle alone would be simple enough to explain in a short tutorial, but after that it would just be like "okay now copy and paste like 20 times, now use find and replace like 100 times but WATCH OUT you can't use Replace All because each set is formatted exactly the same. make sure the IDs all match and and the names are all grouped correctly... good luck" it wasn't too hard to plan out, just very tedious to put together. the dollmaker options you shared on the jam page are a lot more friendly!
code jams and game jams have so much in common that i'm surprised by how much they feel like entirely separate scenes. i'll take any opportunity for a crossover so i can be like "web people, come make games with me" and "games people, come make webpages with me" .. idk if it works but maybe!! i think weblistings like yours are also a great way to bridge that gap between people that see themselves as primarily interested in games or primarily interested in websites. i love to see games on websites, websites that are games, etc. we can have it all <3
thank you for hosting this jam and creating the dollmaker listing! i just applied!
